We were enlisted to help reimagine OGX, an approachable beauty brand on the verge of becoming more science-focused - Together we went on a fantastical journey through microscopes and multicolored laboratories.
We demonstrated that the technology behind beauty products can be colorful, sensory, and elegant, revamping everything from new product launches to scientific demos and everything in between.
OGX’s product range is multicolored, so much so that together it looks spectral. Early on, we realized that glass and its refraction would be a key aspect to explore, shining multicolored highlights amidst deep purples and blues, and of course, the luscious OGX gold.
We used glass to depict fragile hair and gold to represent OGX at work—shampoos and conditioners that smooth and repair.
Whether selling a product or explaining complex scientific concepts, we think the spaces between beauty, science and technology deserve light and color. The goal - to try to take people’s breath away.
Tactile moments that represent molecular structures that, honestly, we’re not smart enough to fully understand. 3-Dimensional Iconography - Symbols and diagrams should be branded and beautiful too.
Scientific artwork shouldnt make you feel nostalgic about your dusty old school text book, or worse still... look sterile. We believe it should uplift and inspire.
Like any design or branding work, balance is key. If it’s too scientific, the work becomes sterile; if it’s too beauty-focused, it loses its edge. We had a blast developing a vision for the future.
"We’re super proud that our work showcases that anything is possible with us. Creative thinking in 3D with our team unlocks ultimate flexibility, fidelity, and ultimately, beautiful original work."
